Watching Lanka 2024

Kallady beach

Kallady beach

Kallady Beach is located in Kallady, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. It is a very clean beach and one of the cleanest beaches in Sri Lanka. It is a relatively sparsely populated beach and is a great place to catch the sunrise and spend time walking in the morning. It is time for fishermen to come fishing. There are military installments in Kalladi village as part of the current Sri Lankan civil war. The 2004 tsunami affected the village and caused great loss of life and property.

On the same road to Kallady beach, another interesting tsunami worth visiting is the Thiruchendur Murugan Temple. It is divided in half by the power of the waves and the rear part is placed in the sanctuary.
