Peacock Hill in Pussellawa – Hike & Visit

Peacock Hill

Peacock Hill is located at the end of a beautiful village called Doragala in Pussellawa. If you are going on this trip, it is better to use private transport than to use public transport. This is because traveling in your own vehicle can save you a lot of travel time.

This mountain is located adjacent to the town of Pussellawa and is about 1518 feet high. There are also several telephone signal towers. When you go here you can see a beautiful mountain range like Gampola town, Ambuluwawa, Pidurutalagala mountain range, Kotmale reservoir, Dolosabage mountain range, Kabaragala, Nawalapitiya, Batalegala, Alagalla. The easiest way to reach is the road near the Doragala Tea Factory or the road to the south past the road on the Nuwara Eliya road past Gampola town.

There are two ways to climb the mountain. Cars, vans, motorcycles, three-wheelers, and any other vehicle can travel on the first lane. Go to Pussellawa town and take the Kotmale Mahaweli Stupa Road on the way through Doragala Tea Factory. You can go to the top of the mountain by vehicle. If you take a vehicle from here you can go to the top of the mountain and reach the top of the mountain in 30 minutes.

An idol with a board can be used to quickly start climbing the mountain from there. The second way is a little harder. This is the path shown on Google Maps. This road can be reached by foot or by a vehicle near the hill. From here it is difficult to find the way to the mountain. You can hear the road from the villagers and walk. Start the journey in the morning Foggy conditions can occur from time to time.
