Rankoth viharaya is an ancient Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. Rankoth viharaya is situated in pandura. This is a famous Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. rankoth vehera( stupa )is the 4th largest stupa in the country after ruwanweliseya, jetawanaramaya.

The word rankoth means golden pinnacle. People also believe that the boo tree at rankoth viharaya is older than the temple. Rankoth vehera has been built according to the tradition of the stupas of Anuradhapura and bears a close resemblance to ruwanweliseya.

This stupa was built by nissanka malla of Polonnaruwa. The monuments here which date back thousand years. This temple has a rich history too. Many devotees go to worship rankoth viharaya.
