Thanthirimale raja maha viharaya is an ancient Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. Thanthirimale raja maha viharaya is situated in the Anuradhapura district and the border of the Mannar district.
Thanthirimale raja maha viharaya was built in the third century. It is used by king Devanampiyathissa at once. When the jaya sri maha Bodhi was bought from India to Sri Lanka one night along the way to Anuradhapura the sapling was kept at Anuradhapura.

There are two stone statues and several stone ponds at thanthirimale. The most beautiful sight at thanthirimale is the Samadhi Buddha statue carved from the large rocks. Many Buddhists go to worship thanthirimale raja maha viharaya.
