Traveling from Kandy towards Mahiyanganaya you can see this huge waterfall called Kalugala Gerandi Ella Falls on the left. There are several narrow and long waterfalls in Sri Lanka called Garandi Falls which means Snake Falls. Many waterfalls are so named because they resemble slippery snakes.

Kalugala Garandi Ella waterfall can be seen from a number of sections and the highest 4 categories from Mahiyanganaya road. The total height of the waterfall, which starts from the top of Garandi Falls rock, is about 200-22 meters.

This waterfall is climbable but extremely steep with vertical sections. The upper part of the waterfall is a great place for camping. This waterfall is not listed in the LCWF database.
