Lanka Falls is a little unknown waterfall. But this waterfall is close to the well known Bambarakanda waterfall. But many people who visit Bambarakanda miss this waterfall. This is a beautiful waterfall just like any other waterfall.

If you want to go to this waterfall you have to go to the Bambarakanda waterfall near Kalupahana on the Badulla – Colombo main road. There is a small footpath through the pine forest found near the Bambarakanda waterfall. When you go along it you can see Lanka Falls. This waterfall is beautifully created by a small stream that starts from the Horton Plains Reserve. This waterfall is located at an altitude of 1820 – 1200 meters above sea level. The height of Lanka Falls is approximately 30 meters.

This waterfall gets its name from the fact that it falls into a pond shaped like Sri Lanka. No matter how beautiful this pool is, it is about 20 feet deep, so even if you go to see the waterfall, bathing in this pool is dangerous. Those who like to walk can climb up the waterfall and experience the wonders of the surroundings. When you go down another 300 meters below the waterfall, you can see the water of Lanka Falls coming together in a stream flowing in a different direction and creating another small and beautiful waterfall.
