Waterfalls can be found in almost every city in Sri Lanka, a country full of waterfalls. The 189 m high Kurundu Oya Falls (Mathura Ela) is the second-highest fall in Sri Lanka. Its source, the Kurundu River, then flows into a deep valley and then joins the Mahaweli River.
[envira-gallery id=”6505″]Located in the Nuwara Eliya district, take the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandapola to reach the falls. After 18 km the road passes through Piduruthalagala valley and Coodoogala jungle. Continue for another 11 km to the Kurundu river and then turn right at a stream. After 2 km a vehicle cannot proceed. Go to the park and go ahead, past the tea pickers. This fall is located 100 meters away from the tea estates.
